“In some places in the south, one wouldn’t see the minimum welfare requirements for a simple life, but people still keep smiling and love and affection runs in their veins,” says Tehran-based photographer Behzad Lotfi. He took this photo last year in a village of Bandar Mogham district in southern Hormozgan Province. “If only there was no oil in this land; no gas, no gold, no copper, no uranium,” he says, referring to rich hydrocarbon and mineral reserves, whose real owners, the people, are mostly struggling with increasing poverty.
«در جنوب حداقل‌های رفاهی برای یک زندگی ساده هم بعضا دیده نشد، اما مردم همچنان میخندند و معرفت و مهربانی در خونشان است.» این گفته‌ی بهزاد لطفی، عکاس ساکن تهران است. او این عکس را سال گذشته در یکی از روستاهای منطقه‌ی بندر مقام در استان هرمزگان گرفته است. او مینویسد: «ای کاش در این سرزمین نفت نبود، گاز نبود، طلا نبود، مس نبود، اورانیوم نبود … فقر نبود.»
