Lotka Ecolodge is located in a serene place, among the nature of the Hyrcanian Caspian Sea, which makes it a unique ecolodge to stay in Rasht, Gilan. Hyrcanian forests are the most ancient of all forests survived the ice age due to Caspian Sea’s humidity. Going to Lotka, will give you the opportunity to get acquainted with the Gilaki culture; you can experience a rowboat trip from the private pier at the back of the ecolodge, shop local handicrafts made by rural women as souvenirs, and indulge in local cuisine (mostly cooked with organic ingredients). Sarkhoski, where Lotka is located, is a very green and quite village to spend time in with a lot to discover.

Lotka is surrounded by villages that provide the chance to take part in the daily activities and ceremonies of the village at certain times, hiking through variety of terrains such as steep mountains, forests, and lagoons to embrace the nature of the Hyrcanian Caspian Sea.
Lotka Ecolodge is an authentic rural residence. Previously, the only structure in this complex was the traditional Isa Khan house. This house has two stories, which are rented separately to tourists. There are early morning free walking tours around the village and so many other activities to spend time in order to get to know the culture and the nature in an unforgettable experience.

Rooms

Room #1

A room for 8 people with traditional bedrolls. On the second floor of our wooden building.Private restroom and shower are in the backside of the building and located outside. The room contains mosquito net and a fan for warm seasons and a coal heater for winter time.

Room #2

Room is located on the first floor of wooden Shekili building with a balcony and divided doorstep. Facilities are 4 traditional bedrolls, mosquito net and a fan for summer, gas heater for winter breeze. The room has private restroom,located outside of the building.

Room #3

Located in the second building with Orjeni architecture. It has 2 beds and 2 bedrolls. A mosquito net and a fan for summer and a gas heater for winter time. The room includes private restrooms and showers.

Room #4

Located in the Orjeni building, the room includes 4 traditional bedrolls, a mosquito net and a fan for hot season and a gas heater for winter time. The room only has Iranian toilet and a private shower.

Room #5

The smallest room for 2 people, in the Orjeni building with private Iranian Toilet and private shower. A gas heater for winter time and a fan and a mosquito net for summer.

How to Get to Lotka?

By plane: The distance between Rasht Airport and Lotka Ecolodge is 19 km (30 min). Rasht international airport is located 10 kilometers north of Rasht. There are a few daily flights from Tehran to Rasht. Most of these departures are either early in the morning or late afternoon. Also, there is a direct flight to Dubai. Upon your arrival, you can get a taxi from the airport to Lotka or arrange with to pick you up.

By Bus and Taxi: The closest bus terminal to Lotka is Anzali Bus Station with a distance of 24 km (35 min) from Lotka. There is a bus transportation from the west terminal (Terminal-E-Gharb) in Tehran to Anzali every day, hourly or every 30 minutes and the journey takes 5 hours. Also, there is a taxi service (shared or private) from Tehran to Rasht in the west terminal. When you arrive, you can take a taxi to Lotka or arrange with us before arriving to pick you up.

Read Before You Book!

The house of Issa Khan is one of the residences in the Lotka’s area. The first floor (Jir Room) has a large room with a terrace and the second floor (Jor Home) has two small rooms with a balcony. These two units are divided by separate staircases. The amenities of the rooms are the same, but on the second floor, the balcony is larger and has a wider perspective. This floor is rented entirely for the sake of the guests and their comfort but if you desire, you can book each room for half the price.

The house is built in accordance with Gilan’s traditional architecture style. To maintain this architecture, the bathroom is located outside the house. Each floor has designated bathroom and restroom. The place is not suitable for elderly people because of stairs. And the place is not suitable for unattended children. We do not have beds in any of the rooms. But blanket, mattress, pillow, clean linen and towel will be given to our guests at time of arrival. Rooms do not have refrigerators and cooking utensils. But you can use the Lotka’s kitchen in coordination with the hosts. There is no TV in the rooms, but there is WiFi in Lotka.

The Lotka Lobby (handicrafts museum), pergolas and gardens are open to public. If you wish, you can pick local vegetables from the garden for daily consumption!

Please Note:

The breakfast time is flexible. Inform us the desirable time the night before. In Lotka, most of the food is cooked by the local cooks. Order lunch or dinner from a day before.
We have walking in the village every day. If you want, we would be happy for you to join us.
There is free parking on the premise.
It is forbidden to smoke inside rooms and pergolas because of the possibility of fire.
Garbage accumulation is one of the problems in Gilan because there is no waste recycling plan around the village. Therefore, we kindly ask the guests to divide their dry and wet waste during the stay in Lotka residency.
