Our booking system automatically sends a booking confirmation to all reserved guests which you can present to passport control at IKIA. We are, however, not a travel agency, nor do we coordinate visa issuing, therefore we cannot provide a visa authorization code.
Frequently Asked Questions
Unfortunately, at this point in time guests cannot legally pay for rooms via PayPal or with their credit card due to sanctions against Iran.
We only accept cancellations 48 hours in advance, therefore we advise you refer back to our booking page two days before your expected arrival in anticipation of any new availability. Alternatively, the café part of See You in Iran hostel is open from 8 am until 12 am every day and we would enjoy seeing and interacting with you there even if we cannot accommodate you in one of our rooms.
Since some Apple devices have a loading problem with our online reservation system page, please try to book with other devices. If this option is not available at the time, please call the hostel directly (+98 21 8883 2266) or send your full name, gender, country of residence, passport number, arrival time, e-mail and your check in/out dates to firstname.lastname@example.org and ask the e-mail team to manually reserve you a room/dorm through the booking system.
We will reply emails in 24 hours, so if your reservation is time sensitive, then you need to contact the hostel and ask the receptionist to book you a room/bed.
Café-Hostel & Accommodation
We have a partnership with a local taxi agency that provides transportation to both IKIA and Mehrabad Airport. However, at this point in time we do not offer airport pick-up service. IKIA does have its own taxi service (the yellow and green cabs). They base their fares on fixed rates or taxi meters. An approximate price for a taxi from IKIA to the hostel is 800,000 Iranian Rials. Alternatively, if you prefer public transportation use the IKIA metro shuttle to the main subway line.
We do not formally offer early check-in, but we have 24/7 staff that will open the door for you at any time and escort you to your room. To better help our personnel we ask that you provide an accurate arrival time. Furthermore, if you want access to your room before check-in, then reserve the room for the night before. Lastly, do not forget to proceed to the reception desk the next day at 11 am to formally check in and pay for your expenses (We only accept cash in Euros or Iranian Rials).
At this point in time we do not offer work-to-stay opportunities for guests. However, if/when you’re in Tehran please visit us at our café, which is open from 8 am until 12 am.
We have a storage space to the left of our reception desk. Future/former Guests can leave their personal property for the same day as their check-in or check-out. Due to the limited size of that space we cannot store luggage under other circumstances.
Disclaimer: guests are responsible for any personal property that is left in the storage space.
Before arriving feel free to refer to our 140k-member See You in Iran online community, on Facebook for up to date traveling information/recommendations and to read about the personal experiences of former travelers. Upon arriving at the hostel you can purchase our new See You in Iran package which consists of a SIM card, a handmade tote bag, a bus/metro card and a detailed map.
See You in Iran recently launched a secure, online travel services portal wherein you can book domestic plane and bus tickets all over Iran using your international credit card.
One of the hostel’s amenities included an affordable travel package, which consists of four maps (Iran, Tehran, local services map and metro map), a SIM card, a metro/bus card and a tote bag. In addition, we have an FAQ binder which hostel guests can use for frequently asked travel questions.
