The abhorrent terrorist attack that took place on September 22nd in Ahwaz province of #Iran, the casualties of which were mostly civilians, has left us all mournful and distressed. Due to the uncertainty regarding the responsible organisation for this horrendous undertaking, speculations about the incentives of this act continue. What is striking though is the #mainstream media’s grotesque aversion, with a few exceptions, to use the term “Terrorist Attack”. Such attack must be condemned and considered immoral and inhumane regardless of the location, by whomever it’s executed and the type of population it affects. The discriminatory reporting of this act of terror happens in the times when unjust economic sanctions have crippled the livelihood of the majority of people living in Iran. Indisputable effort to further isolate Iran is being done and the loss of innocent lives is discounted along the way. This familiar pattern is becoming more noticeable and it is making it more critical for the global community to stand united with Iranian people and promote solidarity internationally.
