“In a desert-like place, I saw a shepherd who was dancing on his own next to his sheep to the music in his headphones,” says photographer Ahmad Halabisaz of the man whom he came across while driving across the central Semnan Province. “I stopped and turned back. ‘How are you,’ I asked. ‘Are you in love?’ He said he was. I got off the car and talked to him,” the photographer says, not knowing that the twenty-year-old herdsman had quite a love story to share. “He had his heart stolen by a Baluch girl. The eighteen-years-old girl was far away. The man was Shia and the girl was Sunni. They both loved each other. His father was against their marriage.”
