How is Everyday life in Iran
Western Interventionism in Iran has a long history and Iran’s strategic location has tremendously augmented this phenomenon. The dichotomized discourse that results in divisions such as “Global North” and “Global South” is what currently coheres the interventionism policies that the warmongering US administration is following. Mainstream media is an apparatus that ministers to the agendas of such discourse and the portrayal of Iran by these platforms is no exception. See You in Iran organization aim to make an impact on the image that has been broadcasted of Iran by creating a space in which people from different parts of the world can connect better and travelers’ unfiltered narratives about Iran can be shared.
The everyday life in Iran, like any other country, has its own challenges and it is entangled with its history and geo-politics, factors without which analyzing the current plight is impossible. Iran has always been considered as a strategic area in the region hence the imperialistic powers never stopped intervening in its internal affairs within the past centuries. The meddlesome strategies have ranged from interventionism and interference with Iran’s political system to economic sanctions and stigmatization of the country primarily through mainstream media which has gained tremendous momentum in past decades. Therefore, labeling Iran as the biggest sponsor of global terrorism by Trump and his gang is hardly a surprise especially at a time when US undeniable destructive presence in the Middle East has directly amplified the chaos and carnage in the region that can be witnessed in Libya and Syria.
The historical and geo-political characteristics of Iran have always been influential in the governance of the country in terms of internal stability, political forecast and democratization as well as economic and foreign policies. International Institutions that have been created and developed for centuries and could affect social, economy and political circumstances in different countries have become feeble due to extremism of right wings like Trump. Therefore it hardly surprising that an institution like The International Court of Justice is ineffective against the unjust sanctions imposed on Iran even though it is conspicuous that the sanctions influence the wellbeing of Iranian population, socially, politically and economically more than it does the government.
Security, order and democracy within the “Global North” countries and chaos, suppression and war within the “Global South”, are two sides of the same coin. This dichotomy stems from a suppressor warmongering self-serving discourse that puts itself above all and considers its survival to be dependent on abolishing others. The self-other ideology will soon harm bigger and bigger populations as it has already to an extent when terrorist attacks are not confined to borders anymore and take place in both Global South and Global North. There remains a bigger picture though, the one that is closer to reality. The portrayal of war, chaos and suppression with regards to Iran is just as unrealistic as the portrayal of secure, orderly and democratic Global North which is exactly the dichotomized landscape that mainstream media tries to get across. Internalization of such perspective causes the citizens of the Global North to become obedient and satisfied with the mere illusions of liberty and security and the population of the Global South to become passive and immobile since there is only doom lurking in every corner. Therefore the Global North’s perception of countries such as Iran is extremely biased. The fact of the matter is everyone choses a way of living in accordance to their circumstances but the gap in standard of living between Global South and Global North isn’t as big as to be defined by “war” and “chaos”. Moreover the neoliberalism plague that has swept through the planet is not much less harmful than what the Global South countries are struggling with rather a different form. Therefore we, as the inhabitants of the earth, live at times when the source of suffering is mutual and needs mutual undertaking and unified front to be changed whether you live in Paris or Tehran. The current situation needs to be altered by togetherness and affinity and that togetherness must be formed around the collective goal of changing the dichotomized view of the human beings. See you in Iran organization attempts to change the existing space throughout the media outlets that feed upon the polarized ideology. At the same time we try to challenge and confront Iranophobia by being an apparatus to provide a space for people from different parts of the world to connect better with each other and change the image of Iran through unfiltered narratives of travelers. We also try to run the organization democratically and with an alternative business model. We expect people from different countries to accompany us on this path and by getting out of their comfort zone to form a more direct connection with inhabitants of countries like Iran contribute to their historical duty.

ایران همواره کشوری استراتژیک برای نظم جهانی بوده و به همین دلیل قدرت‌های جهانی در دو قرن اخیر دست از مداخله‌گری در ایران برنداشته‌اند. تقسیم جهان به دوگانه شمال و جنوب در حال حاضر پیشبرنده گفتمانی است که دولت جنگ‌طلب آمریکا و متحدانش از آن پیروی می‌کنند. رسانه‌های غالب نیز که در ساختن تصویر شمال و جنوب نقش پررنگی ایفا می‌کنند، در این مسیر به ابزاری تبدیل می‌شوند که در خدمت این گفتمان هستند. مجموعه See You in Iran سعی در بوجود آوردن فضایی دارد که در آن مردم کشورهای مختلف با شنیدن روایت‌های گردشگرانی که به ایران سفر می‌کنند، بتوانند تصویر پیش‌ساخته از ایران را برای خود تغییر دهند.
زیستن در ایران مانند هر کشور دیگری با فراز و نشیب‌های زیادی همراه است که این فراز و نشیب‌ها را نمی‌توان فارغ از تاریخ و ژئوپلیتیک ایران درک کرد. ایران همواره کشوری استراتژیک برای نظم جهانی بود و به همین دلیل قدرت‌های جهانی در دو قرن اخیر دست از مداخله‌گری در ایران برنداشته‌اند: از حضور مستقیم در ایران تا مداخله در سازوکارهای سیاسی ایران گرفته تا فشارهای اقتصادی و بدنام‌سازی‌هایی که دردوره‌های اخیر شدت گرفته است. بنابراین اینکه ترامپ و دارودسته‌اش ایران را اصلی‌ترین حامی تروریسم جهانی تلقی می‌کنند زیاد دور از انتظار نخواهد بود اما نکته اینجاست که این برچسب در موقعیت تاریخی است که نمی‌توان مداخله‌گری دولت آمریکا را در آشوب و تخریب منطقه خاورمیانه انکار کرد همانطوری‌که در لیبی و سوریه می‌بینیم.
این وضعیت تاریخی و ژئوپلیتیک بر دولت‌های مستقر در ایران تاثیرگذار بوده است و روند دموکراتیک شدن فضای سیاسی و ثبات در ایران را به اندازه پیکربندی اقتصادی و سیاست‌های خارجی آن تحت تاثیر قرار داده است. در مقیاس جهانی بدون شک پیگیری‌های نهادی می‌تواند تاحدودی وضعیت سیاسی، اجتماعی و اقتصادی ایران را تحت تاثیر قرار دهد اما متاسفانه امروز راست‌گراهای افراطی نظیر ترامپ و دولت‌های ایدئولوژیک وضعیت نظم جهانی را به سمتی سوق داده‌اند که رفته رفته تمامی نهادهای عدالتخواه و دموکراتیکی که طی قرن‌ها توسط انسان شکل گرفته است اخته شده‌اند و بنابراین دور از انتظار نیست که حتی نهادی مانند دادگاه بین‌المللی سازمان ملل نتواند در برابر وحشی‌گری‌های خشونت‌بار و منفعت‌طلبانه ناشی از اعمال تحریم‌ها در ایران مقاومت کند علی‌رغم اینکه با بررسی کلی تاریخی می‌توان دریافت که این تحریم‌ها بیش از دولت‌ها، مستقیم بر وضعیت اجتماعی، اقتصادی و سیاسی ساکنان ایران تأثیر می‌گذارد و فضای تغییر را برای گروه‌هایی کنش‌گر سخت‌تر و پرپیچ‌وخم‌تر می‌کند.
«امن بودن»، «منظم بودن» و «دموکراتیک بودن» کشورهای شمال یک روی سکه‌ای است که «آشوب»، «سرکوب» و «جنگ» در کشورهای جنوب روی دیگر آن است و این کلیت همه برساخته ساختارهای سرکوب‌گر، منفعت‌جو و جنگ‌طلب است که بقای خود را در نابودی دیگری می‌بینند و این دوگانه روزی گریبانگیر همه ما خواهد شد، کمااینکه تاکنون شده است و نمونه‌های آن حملات تروریستی است که چه در کشورهای شمال و چه در کشورهای جنوب رخ داده است. اما آیا این تمام تصویری است که دنیا دارد؟ بدون شک خیر. همانقدر بازنمود «جنگ»، «سرکوب» و «آشوب» در کشورهایی نظیر ایران به دور از واقعیت است که فضای «امن» و «منظم» و «دموکراتیک» برای کشورهای شمال و این دقیقاً دوگانه مضحکی است که رسانه‌های غالب از دنیا تصویر می‌کنند که خودِ این تصویرسازی برساخته روابط قدرت و ثروت در مقیاس جهانی است تا هم بتواند انسان‌هایی مطیع در کشورهای شمال بسازد که گمان می‌کنند در فضای آزاد و برابر زیست می‌کنند و هم بتواند از طریق القاء این باور که این سرنوشت محتوم این کشورهای جنوب است، گَرد ناامیدی بر فضای کنشگری در این کشورها بپاشند. بنابراین این نگاه اروپاییان نسبت به فضای زیست ساکنان کشورهایی نظیر ایران به شدت مخدوش و یکدست کننده است. هر کسی برای بقای زیستی خود با توجه به شرایط روش‌هایی را برمی‌‌گزیند اما در هر صورت این شرایط زیستی در کشورهای مختلف (به جز آن‌هایی که با جنگ مستقیم دست و پنجه نرم می‌کنند) خیلی اختلاف فاحشی ندارد و نمی‌توان آن را با عباراتی نظیر «جنگ»، «سرکوب» و «آشوب» توصیف کرد.
همچنین وضعیتی که ساکنان کشورهای جنوب گرفتار آن هستند با پوسته‌ای انسانی‌تر گریبانگیر ساکنان کشورهای شمال نیز هست و آن نظام‌های نئولیبرالی است که به شکل‌های مختلف در جغرافیاهای مختلف ظاهر می‌شود. لذا در وضعیتی به سر می‌بریم که همه ما کم و بیش از یک موضوع رنج می‌بریم و زیست ما به آن گره خورده است چه ساکن فرانسه باشیم و چه ساکن ایران. بنابراین امروز روزی است که ما بیش از پیش به همبستگی بیشتری نیاز داریم و اساس این همبستگی از بین رفتن ذهنیت قطبی شده نسبت به جهان است. به همین دلیل است که مجموعه ما مسأله خود را تسخیر فضای رسانه‌ای قرار داده است که توسط این ایدئولوژی دو قطبی تغذیه می‌شود و در تلاش است تا مستقیم و غیرمستقیم آن را اشاعه دهد. مجموعه ما در تلاش است تا از طریق چارچوبی در هم تنیده به منظور ایجاد همبستگی بیشتر میان ساکنان کشورهای مختلف هم بتواند نگاه ایران‌هراسی را به چالش بکشد و بازنمود روایت‌های واقعی از ایران باشد و هم بتواند نمونه بدیلی از سازوکارهای کسب و کار ارایه دهد که مدلی از پیکربندی دموکراتیک از یک اجتماع باشد. بنابراین از ساکنان سایر کشورها انتظار می‌رود تا به نوبه خود در این مسیر همراه شوند و با خارج شدن از دایره امن خود و برقراری پیوندهای نزدیک‌تر با کشورهایی نظیر ایران مسئولیت تاریخی خود را به انجام رسانند.
