Hannabandoon in Shiraz

Hey everyone, these are photos from my hannabandoon in Shiraz a few years ago. I thought you guys might find them interesting! My husband is from Shiraz so we decided to wear Ashayeri dress and to celebrate it in a traditional tent. For the non-iranians, hannabandoon is a celebration that is held usually the night before the wedding where henna is placed on the hands of the bride and groom to be. The coat that my husband wore belonged to a relative of his who had worn it in the 2500 year celebration of the Persian Empire held in 1971. The coat had been stored in the attic and had little holes in it from mice eating it.
